A big focus at A Forever Recovery is getting the clients involved within the community through volunteer activities. The whole idea here is that a recovering individual is only as good as he can help others. While being a substance abuser, people often create very negative effects on the community that they are in. With this in mind, it’s logical that getting them involved in the community in a helpful way will actually be more positive for them.
Case in point, A Forever Recovery recently helped out at its own Reunion Picnic, a huge picnic that A Forever Recovery hosts every year to raise awareness on addiction within the community. At this event, A Forever Recovery used the help of multiple staff members and clients alike to go help out at the occurrence and to put it on. This event was a huge success because they had all of the help that they needed to make it work. This event gave the clients at A Forever Recovery a chance to see what it’s like to be a very positive influence on the community and to give them a new incentive for staying clean and sober for life. A Forever Recovery participates in events like this very regularly because they know how helpful it is for their clients. Using events like these are a great way to get everyone involved and on the same page and all working towards the ultimate, desired goal of total freedom from drugs and alcohol once and for all.
